Upon a tractor, beneath a tree
Comes an elvish melody
That shakes the heart and rattles bone
Whilst up, up there hoary clouds moan;
Droplets of why and how, yes and no
Sing as the dancing elder winds blow
To the beat of a heart, ho hum,
Fresh ideas a thundering drum
And golden throats mellifluous rise,
Closing in with Life’s surprise.
Hanging by starlight,
Evanescence breath–dwindling shapes,
The deer graze alone
Until a branch snaps above,
Fading hooves below.
Life sets with the sun,
Darkness spews unfettered truth
Onto a blank page.
Effulgent, an apple,
Pure red on the seller’s cart,
Young eyes stare, hungry.
Coloured leaves under crisp feet,
Young lovers embrace.
