The Secret

One day I spake thus to my dearest May:

“My love, I feel an ancient fear grip me

That sucks dry Joy, sends Laughter all away–

I wake to nightmares which I cannot flee!

I need a remedy of mighty strength,

Before my mind and heart fade to black,

That will help me escape from hell’s arm’s length.

O, dear, I beg you, do not let me crack!”

With tender voice my dearest May said:

“For you, my love, whom inner demons fight,

The Secret is the key to end your dread;

It is the one way to rekindle your Light!

But tread cautiously, many have gone mad–

You must learn to become happy whilst sad!”
